Each year we invest a lot of time and work in hosting our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) in August. We love doing this because we desire to serve the children of our community and church with love, and because we desire to share God’s good news about Jesus with as many kids as we can.
So, this spring, as COVID-19 impacted all of the regular programming of life, we worked hard to come up with different options of how we could possibly do VBS this summer. All the while, we did not know what the future months would be like, or what the government restrictions would be down the road.
Finally, in late June we made the tough decision to cancel VBS this year. While we highly value this ministry, and know that it would be very disappointing to many families, we felt that the best way to care for our community this summer would be to wait until next year to host VBS. Logistically, to safely and confidently carry out even our alternate versions of VBS within the government guidelines was not possible.
Please know that we miss all of you kids and your families, and that we are already working on VBS 2021! We hope to see you next year! (And Snuggles the Bear sends a virtual high-five.)
